Not 100% sure but I think there is some kind of symbolism behind the feather - if you know give me a hollar and I'll post it here. I actually have 2 of these. One piece I dabbled in polishing but not much - just wanted to see if it would clean up. Both sides polished. You choose which one you would like. I know some folks hate old things polished so just let me know otherwise the unpolished will go first. You only get one. It measures 4.75 inches long - quite long. There are no markings to ID this piece anywhere on the brooch
