This is a handmade ceramic tea set, made by a potter on Miyajima, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan.
The set includes one small curved dish and one yunomi teacup.
The dish can act as a saucer and also hold a small sweet or cookie.
A yunomi teacup is the most common teacup used daily in Japan.
The plate measures approximately 7.5 x 4 inches.
The teacup measures approximately 3.25 inches high with a diameter of approximately 3 in and holds approximately 5 fluid ounces.
The tea plate is decorated with the torii gate, momiji or maple leaves, and deer, all familiar sights on Miyajima. The teacup is graced with momiji leaves.
Kiln or potter's mark on the bottom of plate and side of cup.
