From her initial release in 2002. Very gently used. I wanted Samantha but my mom got me Kaya instead. We were so poor I don't know why she bought me an expensive doll that wasn't the one i wanted. I remember her telling me she was getting me another American Girl doll for my 10th birthday. I already had Josefina, my fourth or fifth choice, I thought for sure I was getting Samantha this time, or at least Kirsten. Saddest birthday ever. It's not Kaya's fault, I don't blame her. She's wonderful, just not the one for me. Hope she'll make someone as happy as Samantha would have made me, she deserves it.
Anyway, there's some wear and tear on her belt. Legs are a little loose, but she stands on her own. Body is firm and clean. She has a little schmutz on her face and on one leg, and could use a quick dusting. Her left eye doesn't always like to close on its own. Hair is a little matted in the back and she's missing one of her hair ties. Pretty sure her hair is still in the original braids.
